Match report Although we did not get the result we wanted on the final day of the season, results elsewhere ensured we had a promotion to celebrate. It has been a remarkable turnaround from last season’s difficulties. The players have worked extremely hard to improve the overall consistency of their performances.
At the start of the season results were a bit indifferent, but once we had a regular side out most weeks, runs and wickets came fast and points began to build up. Heading into the second half of the season, we knew that a good run of results would see us in the promotion mix, and that is exactly what happened after being knocked back away at Horspath. Our season defining run involved a dramatic run chase away at Didcot in the rain, and a nail biting DLS victory at Cropredy which kept us in the top two with one game to go.
The presentation evening was an enjoyable evening, allowing the team to celebrate their huge success, and we will all be working hard to make next season is just as successful for the club.
