Match report After a beautiful journey to Challow, we were asked to field first, which is exactly what we wanted to do. Stuart and Phil bowled tightly to put the pressure on early, with Phil getting figures of 4-25 in 14 overs. Challow fought off the shackles with some big hitting from Mark Taylor, who struck 56 to give us 185 to chase in 48 overs. One concerning aspect of the first innings was when the skipper had to limp off the field with a pulled hamstring, but was able to come back on to finish the innings.
The run chase began brightly, with Bob and Ben putting on 80 for the 1st wicket, both of whom got into the 40’s but were unable to convert them to 50 and beyond, much to the disappointment of the travelling support, who were enjoying the hospitality. A classy knock by Dan Bull ensured that we walked away with the full 25 points, claiming a comfortable 7 wicket win.
