Match report Super Semmens leads Kimble to victory
Kimble got back to winning ways after a solid performance all round. However things didn’t start well, with oxford finding themselves 40-0 after 8 overs, with both openers looking comfortable. The momentum soon swung Kimble’s way after some fine bowling from Phil Semmens, who collected impressive figures of 4-73, bowling throughout the whole innings. He was supported by some good field, with the team working hard to gain 2 run outs, restricting Oxford to 170-8 off 53 overs.
Ben Mooney got the innings off to a flier, hitting a swift 26 before getting trapped lbw. With the score at 53-3 the game was in the balance, however a beautifully crafted knock of 63 not out from John Stackhouse steered Kimble to victory, after being supported by Brad Rose, who ended 40 not out.
