Match report Kimble keep hot on the heels of the leaders with solid display
Kimble were unlucky not to come away with the full 25 points after a battling performance until the end against Abingdon seconds. They lost the toss and were asked to baton a very green wicket, losing opener Bob Whitehead in the first over. However the rest of the top order all made healthy contributions, with Bradley Rose making a well timed 72, leaving Abingdon chasing 233 to win off 43 over’s.
In the second innings Kimble were able to pick up an early wicket through the in swing bowling of Sam “loves a Swanne” Agace. After that the Abingdon batsmen dug in for a few overs before the spinners came on with Captain Adrian Rose making another breakthrough. Kimble were always on top with Phil Semmens and Bradley Rose taking 3 wickets a piece. Unfortunately the final stand could not be broken, but that could not dampen the team’s spirits.
