Match report Finished with a victory but it wasn't good enough as Witney got the points they needed. Needing a victory Stokenchurch obliged by deciding to bat first but it wasn't long before the first wicket fell, a direct throw from the boundary by Arun S. ran out their opener for 0. Some good tight bowling kept the score down until the frustration got to the other opener who hit Jon R. straight to Arun S. at mid on. The score then moved on to 83 before Nathan P. picked up his only wicket, the wickets then started to fall at regular intervals to the spin kings Derek P. and Alex R, both taking three wickets a piece but it was left to Mo M. to take the final wicket having the Stokenchurch captain caught at slip by Alex R. with the score on 118.
In reply Tony S. went early with the score on 21, which left Arun S. and Buddika S. to build a good partnership before Arun S. went with the score on 89. A quick trip to the wicket for Martin P. didn't trouble the scorers so it was left to Buddika S. and Mo M. to see Kimble through to victory, Buddika S. finishing on 46. Another good, enjoyable season comes an end, roll on next year.
