Brackley v Kimble Cricket Club First XI on Sat 25 Jul 2015 at 13:00
Match was Drawn
Match report
A real sloppy performance from the bears in the field saw their winning streak come to an end. On a real dodgey pitch with 130 the suspected par score. A total of 10 dropped catches, including 5 off Brackley's number 5 batsmen who went on to make 52 saw them end up on a total 198/7. 'Sick note' Dumbarton & late arrival 'channels' Semmens were the only highlights with the ball (if you can call it that) finishing with figures of 3/39 & 2/52. In reply our innings got off too an unusually slow start which saw stand in Captain Richards & 'Door Knob' Bob scratch around without effecting the scoreboard. Scoreboard pressure ended up being the winner and wickets began to fall, Australian Crawley chipped in with 21 before being miserably bowled and this led to another flurry of wickets. This bought 'Billy Baaaaarb' & 'Senior' Rose together at the crease who both dug in and saw off 9 real important overs to bring us closer to a drawn match. Senior Rose was then dismissed which bought 'drop the ball' Skeggs to the crease who played out of character beautifully and saw off the remaining overs successfully. This saw the bears slowly reach a total of 82/8 and the game ending in a draw 'Billy Baaaarb' Rose ended with a hard fought 13* off 86 balls, an innings the kitman would only have been proud of!! Next week the bears go back to home comforts with a few welcome additions back to the squad as we welcome Great Brickhill, in what is shaping up to be a promotion battle game. The bears will be looking to right there wrongs from this game, find there catching hands and bring the Marsh Road faithful a beautiful 25 points. YOU BEARS!!!!!!
