Match report The season started with a frustrating draw against O&B Nondescripts mainly to us putting down 4 catches, 3 of which were straight forward. Put in to bat in blustery conditions Kimble were soon 6 for 1 after Tony S (3) was bowled but Arun S (32) was looking good and the score was progressing until we found ourselves 51 for 4. Alex R and Bob W then took the score to 88 before Bob W (19) was out playing too early and was plumb lbw. Alex R and Arul N then put on a good partnership with both finding the boundary with ease until Arul (29) was caught. Meanwhile Alex R was steadily progressing to his maiden half century. Stuart S (26 no) came in and fit a quick fire 26 to give us all 5 batting points, not before Derek P went first ball.
In reply O&B Ns never had any intention of going for the win and were quite happy to avoid defeat. Stuart S struck early but another break through couldn't be found. Arul N then took a wicket in his first over with the score on 39 but then the game started to drift, scoring was slow and no chances were being created. It needed something different, so Pete D was given a chance. His first ball saw the batsman drive the ball to cover to Arul N, easy catch here, but no dropped. Fourth ball of the over same batsman, lofts to mid off, Arun S running in drops it. Pete D given another over and with the last ball he gets a caught and bowled. The wicket didn't change the game as their number 3, Haynes, wasn't in any danger and just hit the bad ball for 4. He went with the score on 129 but same bad bowling and another dropped catch saw Kimble give O&B Ns another batting point which they didn't deserve.
Apart from the dropped catches, another 16 wides were bowled, something that has to be sorted out this season.
