Scorecard

Bicester & N. Oxford 3 v Kimble Cricket Club Second XI on Sat 23 May 2015 at 13:00
Kimble Cricket Club Won by 108 runs.

Match report An excellent result on Saturday considering we had 10 men, of which two were making there Kimble debuts. Once again the toss was lost and Kimble were asked to bat but this week we got off to a good start with Arun S (11) and Ali W (26) putting on 44 for the first wicket in only 8 overs. Three quick wickets then saw Kimble at 51 for 3 but Buddika S (21) and Jordon P (46) then put on 41 before Buddika S fell with the score on 93, the scoring continued with Martin L (32no) joining Jordon P. Martin L (of Rivets) who likes to score on the leg side put on 55 with Jordon before Jordon went 4 short of a half century. A quick fire 19 from Arul N pushed Kimble towards the 200 mark but with the last 4 wickets falling for 10 runs the innings closed on 189.
As tea wasn't ready it was decided that B&NO would start their innings, excellent bowling by Stuart S and Jordon P saw B&NO take tea with the score on 1-1 after 4.3 overs. After tea the same pattern emerged as Stuart S and Jordon P gave nothing away reducing B&NO to 18 for 6, Stuart S taking a brilliant catch at first slip off Jordon P. More about catching later! A double bowling change saw Derek P and Arul N come into the attack but the pitch was so slow that the batsmen had loads of time to see off deadly Derek P. Arul N bowled well but couldn't get a wicket. B&NO batsmen, James and Townsend then started to build a partnership, not a match winning partnership but an annoying one which was finally broken when James played on off Derek P. A quick couple of overs from new boy Niron J allowed skipper Tony S to bring back Stuart S and Jordon P, with Stuart S taking the final 2 wickets in his first over. Stuart S finishing with 5 for 10 and Jordon P 3 for 18.
This week saw only 7 wides bowled and nearly all catches taken, Stuart S put a hard chance down at slip and Buddika S put down 2 chances at short cover, the first a diving attempt and the second a juggling attempt which popped out when he hit the ground. A special mention to 10 year old James Whitehead who fielded behind the bat and saved a number of runs.
