Match report The 2s suffered the first loss of the season against Chearsley. Again starting the game with 9 men, although Matthew Travers and Nathan Price did arrive only for Nathan to go again at 3.30 for his prom, a decision that would have an impact on the game. Tony S lost the toss and so Kimble were batting first again, this time on a slow wicket with no bounce. This made it hard to score runs especially as the bowling was wayward as well but steady progress was being made until Tony S (18) called for a single, got 3/4s of the way down only for Arun S to say no and so for the second week running Tony S was run out. Buddika S (5) again went cheaply but with Pete D (41) playing sensibly, he and Arun S (41) started to build a partnership until Arun S was bowled. Niron J (2) came and went then Alex R (18) looked like he was just getting started until he missed a straight one and was bowled. Jordan P (21), back from his holidays looking a bit red, and Pete D started to score more freely and a score passed 200 looked possible but Pete Ds dismissal led to a collapse. Mo (6) called for a single which should have been declined by Jordan but no he ran only to be run out. Jon R (0 no) and Matt T (0) couldn't add to the score and with Nathan P gone, the 2s were bowled out in the 41st over for 180.

In reply the wicket was drying out and producing a bit more bounce but the 2's needed to get off to a good start but that didn't happen as Jordan Ps first over went for 12, including a couple of no ball beamers. No bowler looked like making the break through as Chearsley found scoring easy, aided by the 2s only having 10 men in the field. Jon R bowled tightly without causing the batsmen any trouble as did Mo. But Mo did make the break through when the Chearsley opener hit the ball straight to extra cover with Pete D took the catch. Forty runs later the roles were reversed this time Pete D bowling and Mo taking the catch at extra cover. In between times there had been a couple of hard leg side chances just missed by Alex R behind the stumps. With no one putting the batsmen under pressure Tony S mixed the bowling around with Niron J, Arun S, Matthew T and even Buddika S having a bowl but it was Pete D who picked up the last wicket thanks to diving catch from Tony S at deep extra cover. Chearsley winning with 5 overs to spare but aided by another 20 runs in wides.
