Match report The 2s recorded their second win in a row when they eventually beat Cropedy 3s after a mini Kimble crumble. After winning the toss again there was a minor concern that we were 3 short ten minutes before the start, one of which was Mo who was having his hair cut! After the rain the day before the wicket was a bit soft at one end which made scoring difficult especially against the bowling of the Price brothers. Nathan bowling tightly and picking up a couple of wickets in his first spell. Jordan P was replaced by Mo M (or do you mean Mohammed as his dad said on the phone) who again bowled well but finished wicketless, his first 7 overs going for 16 runs. The introduction of Usman K had an immediate effect as he picked up 2 wickets in first over, then another one three overs later to leave Cropredy 62 for 5. Cropredy then put together a partnership but without looking to build a big score. The fielding was good but there were no chances created, Buddika S dived over the ball a couple of times to give Cropredy a couple of boundaries but once Peter D had removed their opener for 45 that was it really. An excellent piece of fielding from Will S whose direct hit ran out a potential run maker. Both Nathan P, 3 for 22 off 12, and Jordan P, 1 for 27, came back to pick up wicket each and after Alex R had given Cropredy a couple of over throws Cropredy finished on 147 for 9, 20 runs more than they should have got.

In reply, Ali W (31) and Tony S (29) put on 57 for the first wicket against some interesting bowling. Tony S out lbw for the second week running. Buddika S (34) came in and added some inpertus to the proceedings. But when he was out with score on 113 there was then a mini collapse with Niron J (1) and Pete D (8) going in quick succession to leave the 2s on 116 for 5. But Will S (13 not out) and Alex R (15) put on a quick 20 to put us within 8 runs for victory but there was still time for Alex R to go back to a ball he should have gone forward to and was bowled. It was left to Will S to hit the winning four with 4 overs to spare.

The victory keeps us third with two games to go.
