Match report After last week’s draw you would have thought we would have gone into the game with some confidence, but think again.
Dan had to do the toss still waiting for 3 players, two of which were our opener and number 3, so obviously Dan lost the toss and was asked to bat first.
The openers went out to bat, with Bob still not at the ground, and Dan was soon back in the pavilion after edging to slip.
A partnership was then built for the next wicket, albeit at a slow pace, but not as slow as was to follow. Bob had finally turned up and went in at 5 after Mike made a golden duck after his long awaited return ended in disaster.
Back to Bob, he blocked, padded up to the ball several times, and blocked some more in a traumatic 37 ball duck, which did wonders for our run rate.
The innings as a whole will soon be forgotten with Kimble making 97 all out off 49.4 overs! Bob was smiling to himself in the corner of the changing room as he was thinking back to his 26th ball which he blocked emphatically back to the bowler.
On a brighter note we bowled tightly and picked up 6 wickets, but will have to bat a lot better in the 2nd half of the season if we are to make a push for survival. (Scorecard to Follow)
