Bletchley Town v Kimble Cricket Club First XI on Sat 09 Jul 2016 at 13:00
Kimble Cricket Club Won

Match report The Kimble Bear has finally awoken from its winter slumber after a fine team performance saw us gain our first win of the season at Bletchley.
After a week of selection issues, we made our way out onto the field, with Danny finally winning the toss and choosing to bowl first.
The opening bowlers kept it tight, but their main batsman was still at the crease and he soon found his stride, dispatching several balls to the boundary.
It seemed like they were getting away from us, but the introduction of Pete Dumbarton turned the game in our favour. He took 3 key wickets in his spell of 7 over’s.
After this, we kept the bowling and fielding tight, restricting Bletchley to 173 all out, giving ourselves some extra overs which would prove to be vital.
Danny and Ewan got us off to a solid start, but their partnership was broken after Danny was cleaned bowled looking to pull the ball which was not there to be pulled, leaving the crowd to think that he hasn’t learnt from his mistakes this season.
Bob joined Ewan at the crease and played more positively than last week, knocking the ball around to give Ewan the strike, who played a fine innings.
This put us in an unusual winning position, but we made things harder than they should have been, after losing 3 quick wickets. Ali was stumped down the leg side, before Tony, who wore his sweater all day long, was out first ball and will be fearing for his place next week.
The nerves were starting to show both on and off the pitch, with Pete moaning about Bob’s running, and Ali celebrating each run with a jelly baby.
We got over the line after Pete and Bob saw us home with one over to spare, sending the travelling supporters into wild celebrations. Hopefully we have given ourselves a starting point to stage a survival bid, with the game at home to Stokenchurch sure to bring in a large crowd. A big thanks needs to go to Colin Dumbarton for filling in and saving some runs in the field.(Scorecard to follow)
