Match report A disappointing loss to Brackley where neither the batting or bowling was good enough. Despite making an early turn into the wrong industrial estate, Tony S followed by the Mark T was still at the ground in plenty of time unlike four others. Having won the toss Tony S decided to bat first, which turned out to be a problem with 2 of the top 4 batsman not at the ground. The pitch played reasonably well with the odd ball bouncing a bit but Ali W (1) was the first to go but thanks to one of the Brackley bowlers Kimble were on 36 off the first 6 overs. Arun S (11) and Alex R (28) both got in without going on and when Alex went the score was 88 with still half the overs available. Brackley now had spin from both ends and they were getting both bounce and turn which proved decisive and when Tony S (43) went Kimble had slumped to 107 for 7. A few boundaries from Qasim A (10) and Arul N (15) took the score to 130 but when super slow-Mo was run out sacrificing his wicket, Arul went two balls later without adding to the score.

Early wickets were in order if Kimble were going to win but none appeared and with the pitch offering no bounce or turn the Brackley openers had all the time to score the runs. There were no chances created at all and they were in no trouble until, with the score on 74, Arul N (1 for 12) appealed for an lbw that was clearing going down leg and the young umpire gave it much to the shock of the batsman. Qasim A (2 for 36) then picked up two quick wickets, first a good stumping and then a fine catch behind by Alex R reduced Brackley to 85 for 3. But that was it points wise as Brackley soon reached their target with 14 overs to spare.
