Match report Kimble remain hopeful of survival after a positive performance against Leighton Buzzard.
After a pretty dull drive to the ground, the rain then started causing a delayed start. After losing the toss, Kimble were asked to bat on a tacky surface. Alex and Pete got off to steady start, before Alex was bowled and then began to blame the pitch for his dismissal again. He was swiftly followed by Brad, as Lord Foster and Pete set about on a recovery mission.
Scoring was slow but steady, taking the score to 77-2 before drinks. Pete was then caught as Jon Tizzard gave the innings a nice change of tempo, smashing the ball into the football ground. Kimble then got bogged down a touch, before Stu got some much needed late runs to take the score to 203-9 from 49 overs. Jack batted very nicely to hold the innings together to make 58.
Only 13 overs were possible after the restart, but Kimble bowled and fielded exceptionally well to have Buzzard on the ropes at 20-4. They now prepare for another big clash at home to Cropredy next Saturday.
