Match report On a chilly overcast day Kimble started the season at Thame Town (the accommodation as good as ever) with new faces and a full eleven. As usual Tony S lost the toss and was invited to bat. Soon it was 12 for 2, Arun S and Bob W both departing quickly but in came Ben R, after a number of years away, to hit a quick fire 16 but he went with the score on 34. Enter the first of the new boys, Jack F, who looked stylish on an awkward pitch and with Tony S they put on 74 for the next wicket before they both fell in quick succession, Tony S for 36 and Jack F for 40. The scoring slowed with the loss of a couple more wickets before second new boy John T came to the crease and hit 24 in no time including 2 sixes. Once John was out Kimble were bowled out for 156.

Thame were never in the game and lost wickets regularly against the bowling of Mark T (1 for 16) and Matthew T (2 for 10) but it was Ben R, now bowling spin, who produced the best results taking 4 for 11 off 12 overs. John T (1 for 19) also bowled well and was unlucky to take just the one wicket. There was even time for Niron J to bowl four overs but Thame made no effort to score any runs and Kimble were unable to take the 2 wickets required for the win and game fizzled out in to a draw. But 18 points a better start than last year.
