Match report The famous Kimble Crumble was on the menu on Saturday as Kimble 2nds recorded their first win of the season over at Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondes. Tony S lost the toss and Kimble were asked to bat on a damp wicket, which didn't play too badly. Openers Muhammad H (10) and Tony S (28) put on 29 for the first wicket. Babar P (100) joined Tony S and they scored at just under 4 an over until Tony S was bowled with the score on 75. Enter the Crumble as 2 overs later the score was 77 for 6, Usman R 0, Niron J 0, Nisar A 0 and Martin L 0. After this moment of madness Babar P started to score some runs and push the score on aided by Ashish R (8) and Peter S (30 not out). Babar P went on to score a fine 100 surviving being caught off a chest high no-ball, which upset two of the O&B Ns to the extent that they decided to even things up when they umpired. At the end of the 45 overs Kimble finished on 200 for 9.
In reply Oxford & Bletch were never going to get close to the 200 score thanks to fine bowling from Ash R, who was fast and accurate. After a couple of close LBW appeals and a caught behind turned down by the said disgruntled umpire we knew we had to hit the stumps to win the game, which Ash R promptly did followed by a catch from Martin L at 2nd slip. O&B made slow progress to the eighties before two quick wickets, one from Raja bowled and a run out by Niron J exposed the tail and it was only a matter of was there enough time to get all the wickets. Kimble were helped when the disgruntled umpires had to be replaced by honest umpires and decisions went our way with Babar P coming on to take 3 for 16 and Ash R coming back to take the last 2 wickets to finish with 5 for 23.
