Kimble Cricket Club Lost by 5 wickets

Match report Kimble travelled the long distance to champions elect Challow with only 9 players. Tony S won the toss and decided to have a bat, as most of the team hadn't yet arrived, Niron would arrive 45 minutes late after taking a strange route to the ground. Kimble were soon in trouble as Tony S went for 2 but but Ben R (28) and Usman R (54) made batting look easy as they put on 64 for the second wicket. Raja came in and hit a couple of boundaries before he was run out when Usman, on 48, called him for 2. Note of everyone - run your bat along the ground, it gives you a better chance of not being run out. Raja didn't and he was out. Raza (12) threatened but couldn't time the ball and was caught then Usman was bowled. This brought together Niron (12) and Mo (10), both hit the odd boundary before both were caught trying to hit the slow bowler for six, to be fair to Mo he was caught on the boundary. Once they were out the innings closed on 147 all out.

As there was no tea at the ground it was decided that we would go out for 10 overs, so Raza and Raja each had 5 overs to get Kimble in to the game. Raza was bowling quick and not going for any runs whilst Raja picked up a couple of wickets but went for a lot. When we came off for tea Challow were 66 for 2, Raza had gone for 6 runs and Raja 49. After Raza made a break through but that was it really as Rees and Hill put on the runs that took Challow close to their target. Two late wickets earned Kimble a couple more points but that was it, a disappointing end to the season.

As this was the last game it was all back to Kimble for the end of season awards. The turnout was good and it was left to Tony S and Bradley R to handout the trophies. Thank you to all everyone who played this season and congratulations to the award winners especially Jon T for the most sixes award.
